About VYANA

The meaning of VYANA

In classical medicine, Vyana is the breath that circulates — the current that carries nourishment to every corner of the body and connects each part to the whole.

Our name

The all-pervading breath

The calm treatment room at VYANA — soft natural light, linen, plants and an open view

VYANA comes from Sanskrit and can be understood as "all-pervading breath" — that which moves in every direction. It names a current of vital energy that travels outward from the heart, connecting the center of the body with every part of the whole.

Traditionally, VYANA is associated with the heart and with movement toward the body's outermost reaches. It represents circulation, communication and coordination — the continuous exchange that allows separate parts to function as one connected system.

Our name expresses the philosophy at the center of our clinic: every part belongs to the whole, and healing depends on relationship and movement. We chose it because it describes what we hope every treatment does — restore movement where things have become stuck, reconnect what has drifted apart, and remind the body of its own intelligence.

VYANA is an invitation to return to the breath, support the circulation of Qi, and reconnect with the body's capacity for balance and healing. Toward greater balance, vitality, health and longevity.

Meet Ronny

Founder of VYANA

Ronny, licensed acupuncturist and founder of VYANA

Ronny is a Texas-licensed acupuncturist and the founder of VYANA Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine. She offers personalized acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine care, with a particular focus on chronic and musculoskeletal pain, digestive health, allergies and pediatric care — and works with patients navigating headaches, sleep difficulties, menopause symptoms, stress and fatigue.

Care at VYANA begins with understanding the person behind the symptoms. Ronny takes time to explore each patient's health history, daily habits, concerns and goals, and develops a treatment plan that reflects their individual needs — adapting it as those needs change. Her approach pairs compassionate listening with evidence-informed treatment, helping patients work toward greater comfort, well-being and balance.

Nutrition and Chinese herbal medicine are a particular passion within her practice. When appropriate, personalized herbal formulas, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations complement acupuncture and help patients take an active role in their care. For children, Ronny emphasizes gentle, age-appropriate treatment guided by their comfort level.

She holds a Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. She began her graduate studies at Emperor's College in Los Angeles and completed her degree at AOMA after her family relocated to Austin in 2021. She is nationally board-certified through the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM).

Before pursuing Chinese medicine, Ronny earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from TAU and spent more than 15 years managing large-scale software projects within multinational companies. She brings the analytical thinking, attention to detail and thoughtful problem-solving developed in that career to her approach to patient care — alongside a commitment to listening and understanding each person's individual needs.

Through VYANA, Ronny aims to create a welcoming space where patients feel heard and gain a deeper understanding of their health, with attention to body, mind and spirit. Care comes with education and guidance on nutrition, lifestyle and self-care, so patients leave building confidence in caring for themselves and taking an active role in their healing journey.

From patient to practitioner

Why I Chose Chinese Medicine

My path to Chinese medicine began as a patient.

My back issues began during my military service at nineteen, when I developed bulging discs. For years, I managed the pain, but during a severe flare in my late twenties, I tried acupuncture for the first time. Experiencing how deeply and effectively it helped restore a sense of ease when I was in pain gave me a firsthand understanding of what this medicine could offer.

Years later, my husband and I spent three years trying to start a family. Conventional testing did not reveal a clear medical explanation for why we were not conceiving, and eventually IVF was recommended. It was a physically and emotionally demanding road. During our third round, I integrated acupuncture into my care, and our oldest daughter was born. We later conceived our two other children naturally.

That journey changed the way I understood health. Even when no clear diagnosis was found, Chinese medicine helped me see the body through a different lens — one that considers patterns, subtle imbalances, resilience, nourishment, and the harmony needed to support new life.

Those experiences stayed with me. Over time, Chinese medicine became far more than care I received for my own health. It became a field I wanted to study deeply and offer to others.

Today at VYANA, I bring that patient perspective into the treatment room. I know firsthand what it feels like to seek answers, to sit with uncertainty, and to need care that sees more than just a symptom.

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”— John Dewey

I see education as an essential part of care. My role is not only to provide treatment, but also to help patients understand their symptoms, patterns, and daily choices. When care includes education, patients are better equipped to support their health beyond the treatment room.
